Save Pipe Fork
Due to concerns of COVID-19, the town meeting arranged with Josephine County Commissioners and Forester regarding a timber sale in the Pipe Fork Creek area and resulting clear cut was cancelled.
The Pipe Fork Creek and its surrounding habitat is a wild verdant green area of Port Orford cedar, ferns and wildlife, a wonderful place to take a walk in. The loss to Williams of the clear, clean water that the Pipe Fork Creek provides will be significant to the organic farms, drinking water and fish habitat. The Pipe Fork Creek is so amazingly beautiful that it was nominated for a Wild and Scenic stream designation.
WCFP is actively pursuing a social media platform to realize the goals of a dialogue with the commissioners and forester.
Letters to the Josephine County commissioners and forester are important to demonstrate your concerns. Below is a letter that you can download and send to the commissioners and forester by mail or email.

Water Poisoning Meeting Oct 15th 7PM Williams Grange
There are two forest sites that will probably be sprayed with herbicides in the next several months. These herbicides poison our water ways: Rock Creek,Clapboard Gulch, Sugarloaf Gulch, Lone Creek, Goodwin Creek, West Fork Creek, East Fork and Williams Creek, the Applegate and Rogue River. The herbicides kill the soil, plants, animals on land and water and then poison inhabitants down stream. Aerial spray has the potential of herbicides causing damage to unintended areas. Oregon Department of Forest (ODF) mandates, that forest owners who have clearcut their forest, destroy vegetation that will compete with the plantations of new Douglas Fir.
Come to a meeting on Oct 15th 7PM Williams Grange to learn more and help change the ODF laws. We need to protect our community from these poisons.
